Linen straight off the loom is stiff and slightly hostile. These are stonewashed first, so they
arrive with the drape that most linen only reaches after a year of use.
Mitered corners, which is the small piece of construction that keeps a napkin lying flat instead of curling
at the edges after a few washes. Generously sized at 20 inches square — large enough to be useful on a
lap rather than symbolic.
Linen wrinkles. That is what linen does and it is why it looks the way it does. Machine wash cold, tumble
low, and use them creased.
