A kettle earns its place by being fast and by not being annoying. This one is wide at the base
so more of it touches the burner, which brings a full fill up in noticeably less time than a tall narrow kettle
does.
The whistle is deliberately soft — a clear note rather than a shriek. The handle is wrapped in
untreated hardwood that stays cool and does not get tacky over time the way silicone sleeves eventually do. It
folds back out of the way of the steam when you pour.
Enamel over steel, with a pale interior so you can actually see mineral buildup before it becomes a
problem. Descale it with a vinegar boil every few months if you have hard water.
Holds just under two quarts. Gas, electric, and induction.
